Aircraft land nearby the beach..the plane nearly touch the audience's head! haha..
Kuala Lumpur's Public Transport Grievance
We are far left behind by country like Singapore and even Thailand in terms of public transportation efficiency and utilization. This issue has been highlighted by the "rakyat" to the local authority, and yet no solutions or prompt action has been done. If there is action, it is only based on schedule or more of like a routine checks rather than doing a thorough improvement.
If we go to Bukit Jalil temporary bus station, we still can see a lot of touts hanging by the road side, waiting for their victim. And if we look close enough, some of them are even addicts or the local call it "mat gian" with their phony walkie talkie, acting like they really represents a particular bus company. The local authority should really helps to get rid of this eye-soaring events!
The next mode of local transit is the KL monorail. It stops at multiple multiple tourist hot-spots like Bukit Bintang, Bukit Nanas and so called "KL Sentral." The connectivity of this Kl Monorail is so poor, that passenger have to walk and cross a road to go to the real KL Sentral. Imagine when its raining, it'll be so tedious so travel with KL monorail.
And 1 of the announcement made on-board KL Monorail is to transit at Bukit Nanas station for Kelana Jaya Line transfer, its not really a transfer station if you have to go out and walk quite a distance from each other, mygoodness! This is embarrassing!
One more concern is the design of seats that is located at the middle of the car. It hinder from more passenger to board the train. This KL monorail is always cramp and full, whereby they should really introduce 4 car train.
(KL Monorail Bukit Bintang station during rush hour)
The most annoying mode of transportation is the KTM Komuter. They delay and cancels trips on their own free will. Not even a single day that they don't make apology announcement regarding trains delay and cancellation. When train delay, it accumulates passenger at each stops, making more and more people waits and most of the cases, passenger would have to wait for several train to passed by before being able to board the train. The ticketing system is also a nuisance.
The KL public transport integration and to change train from 1 line to another line - BIG issue! You would have to go out from the ticketing slot, and then purchase another ticket to board train going to another line. Even so the Touch'N'Go system has been introduced, only RapidKL - Kelana Jaya Line is promoting it aggressively. The other transit like KTM Komuter, KL Monorail, The Star LRT Touch'N'Go panel is sometime not working.
I know its not easy to establish a system that is so perfect and well-integrated yet passenger-friendly, but with proper planning, it CAN be accomplish. Say, for a scenario, a foreign tourist arrived at KLIA. They would say, its a magnificent airport. Then they board this ERL to KL Sentral, I'm sure they would say, its a very efficient train. But after they arrive in town and see this trouble that we have with our public transport, hurm...think about it. It seems that we only want things to be look pretty outside but ugly inside.
